MATCH GROUP / BLK “VAX THAT THANG UP”
During the pandemic era between 2020 and through 2021, Match Group dating brand “BLK” wanted to reach a young audience and more specifically a younger black audience an insert themselves into the conversation of vaccinations. We saw this as an opportunity to speak directly to dating culture with a simple truth: Dating is more fun when you are vaccinated. To bring energy to that, we tapped the legendary rapper Juvenille and iconic producer Mannie Fresh to reimagine their SUPER FUN anthem “Back That Azz Up” for Vaccines. We wanted to stay as true to the original video as possible while adding some fun relevant-to-topic elements to the visuals. We kept the twerking to a minimum. 🙂
NBA G-LEAGUE / G STATE OF MIND
Playing for the right to make it to the NBA is a very difficult battle that happens within every person that’s ever had a lofty dream. So much is going on in your head and around your thoughts going through the process. To highlight the drama of making it to the NBA G-LEAGUE playoffs and the journey of these incredible athletes, we wanted to make a piece that entered the mind of these players. I wanted to really get across the feel of the mental challenge and isolation of the mind so diving into these words shuffling in the backdrop on this dramatic zoom really brought the “enter the mind” feel home on this epic yet simple piece. It also doesn’t hurt we had INCREDIBLE VO work!
MUTANA MARKETPLACE
As a small local shop on the West End of Atlanta, store owner Emile Foncha wanted to engage with her audience in a more personalized way. We created a mini-doc film highlighting her and her families story brought to life through this candid lens to give her audience a closer glimpse into who this great person is that helps them everyday. Documentary style has a very warm and personal tone that helps deliver heft to personality so we wanted to lean away from traditional advertisment feel. We uniquely wanted to use QR Codes for people if they wanted to learn even more.
AMAZON ALEXA
Amazon wanted to take away the fear factor and complication as it relates to customers using it’s voice technology. To help them achieve this, I wanted to zero in on the fact that voice isn’t new at all and used soundwaves mixed with their “quote bubble” to associate voice with simplicity and ease. So I made a prototype portal. Since it kinda is this “way” into the future. They loved it and we used the portal art direction inside their Amazon Alexa commercial.
